Preschool
A playful first taste of gymnastics — jumping, rolling, balancing and climbing, plus learning to listen and take turns.
One class. No membership, no joining fee, no obligation to continue. Just come along, have a go, and see if it's a fit for your child.
A trial is a single, one-off session in a real class — not a separate taster group. Your child trains with the gymnasts they'd be joining, with the coach they'd have.
Choose the group that matches your child's age from the list below. Not sure? We'll help you place them.
Book and pay for the single session through our booking system. You'll get a confirmation by email.
Arrive five minutes early, say hello at the front desk, and we'll introduce your child to their coach.
Loved it? Take the place in that class. Not for them? That's completely fine — nothing else to pay.
Pick by age. If your child is between groups or you're not sure where they'd fit, message us and we'll point you to the right one.
A playful first taste of gymnastics — jumping, rolling, balancing and climbing, plus learning to listen and take turns.
Boys and girls building the core shapes and skills of gymnastics in a structured, friendly hour.
Girls' recreational gymnastics working through vault, bars, beam and floor.
Boys-only sessions in small groups, from complete beginner through to intermediate.
A teen session for beginners and intermediates — no experience needed.
Air track and floor stations for gymnasts who want to work on their tumbling lines.
A longer two-hour session for girls training towards local recreational competition.
For gymnasts with mild special needs or anxiety, with gymnastics and SEND-trained staff. A parent or carer stays throughout.
Daytime sessions built around home-educating families.
Our Girls Squad and Girls Pre-Development groups are by selection rather than open trial. Gymnasts are usually invited from recreational classes — so if squad is the goal, start with a recreational trial and talk to the coach.
Nothing to buy in advance — club kit is optional and only worth thinking about if you decide to stay.
No. The trial fee covers your session and includes membership and insurance for that class, so there's nothing to join and nothing to pay up front.
Nothing automatic. If your child enjoyed it and there's space, you can take the place in that class on a monthly basis. If it isn't the right fit, you owe nothing further — no notice period, no awkward conversation.
From age 2 in our preschool classes, right through to 15 in the teen session. We also run SEN and home-ed groups, and a girls' squad pathway for gymnasts who want to compete.
A t-shirt with shorts or leggings, or a leotard. Bare feet — no socks. Long hair tied back, and no earrings or other jewellery. Bring a bottle of water.
Yes — there's a viewing area and you're very welcome to stay for your child's first session. For SEN sessions a parent or carer needs to stay throughout.
That's exactly who trials are for. Every recreational class takes complete beginners, and coaches group gymnasts by ability within the session so nobody is thrown in at the deep end.
Join the waiting list through the booking system, or send us a message and we'll let you know as soon as a space comes up in that class.
Get in touch before the session and we'll do our best to move you into another class of the same type. Call 01621 770302 or email hello@maldongym.co.uk.
